Sporadanthus ferrugineus, Giant Wire Rush - Pb5

Also known as Bamboo Rush. This is New Zealands only native restio and flowers from mid-spring to mid-summer. Typically found growing in bogs and on moorland, may grow elsewhere if soils are suitably moist. Grows to a height of about 4m to 6m.
