Better known as Jade Plant or Elephant Bush. A multi-branched shrub with fleshy, smooth obovate glossy green leaves on soft brown stems. Stems become interwoven as the plant ages. In their habitat they form dense thickets and provide an important food source for elephants and other herbivores. It is used for hedging in dry mediterranean climates. Will not tolerate any frost and must have well drained soil and a warm climate or be grown as a house plant. Grows to between 50cm and 60cm both in height and width. May be trimmed if necessary.
