Nothofagus truncata, Hard Beech - Pb6.5

Also known as Tawhai raunui with timber that is tough and difficult to saw. They become a tall, handsome tree with a spreading crown. They are evergreen and suitable for growing in either full sun or partial shade and tolerates most types of soil that are free-draining, dry soils, coastal sites and moderate frosts.

May grow to between 18m and 20m in height.
