Magnolia stellata, Star Magnolia - Pb12

This species is a small, spreading tree with lovely, upward-facing, star-shaped blossoms. Each pure white flower—they are occasionally flushed pink, 5 inches across and comprised of up to 15 individual petals. They light up the trees bare branches in early to mid-Spring. A deciduous tree/shrub that grows well in either full sun or partial shade in humus-rich soil that is moist, free-draining and slightly acidic. Protect from strong winds.
