A native conifer of New Zealand that has reddish-yellow wood which is highly resinous and very flammable, but it is hardy and extremely durable. Was formerly used as railway sleeper, telegraph poles, etc. Be grown in a sunny position where soils are suitably moist and free-draining.
May grow to a height of about 15m.
