Chamaecytisus palmensis, Tree lucerne

Also known as Tree Lucerne and Tagasaste. A rapid growing, hardy legume ideal as a nurse crop for establishing native trees, stock fodder, firewood and also used for nitrogen fixing. Has white flower that begin to emerge in spring and continue through into autumn, attracts nectar-feeding birds. Plant in full sun where soils are free-draining. Evergreen.

Grows to between 3m to 4m x 3m.
