Sapote. Soft skinned fruit with a mild, sweet flavour resembling a combination of peach, banana and pear with a smooth texture. Medium to heavy bearing. Starts fruiting 4-5 years after planting. Main fruiting season May to June. This native mexican fruiting tree comes from the highlands and as a result is fairly hardy. Self-fertile.
Excellent specimen tree, bushy and semi-weeping. Rich green foliage with a short semi-deciduous period after flowering. Small to medium height - Grows to approx 4 x 4m.
Provide a full sun position with well drained soil. Moderately drought tolerant once established. Protect young trees from wind and frost. Prune in summer.
