A non-invasive,clump forming bamboo.Has purple-flushed arching stem's that darken as summer progresses.Grow's well in either full sun or partial shade.Suitable as a specimen plant or may be grown in container's.Requires moist,free-draining soil and will not tolerate being water-logged.Shelter from strong winds.Hardy,evergreen.

Grow's to a height of up to 300cm with a spread of between 100-200cm.
